Overhaul.
For the past three weeks I’ve been attending the feast with their first series for the year, overhaul. It included four topics; purpose, plan, practice and produce. It was sad that I missed hearing the first topic which they say was really a great one and I even remember my sister told me “sayang! para sayo yung talk kanina” =)) What do I learn from the whole series? Let me summarize it for you guys (from my personal realizations) and hopefully this few points I will be sharing can help you from whatever you’re struggling right now. :)
PURPOSE. What one thing in life do you wish to change? that one thing that you long before wanted so bad. Think of it, it should be something great! something that will make not just you but others happy! Now if you have thought of it already then say it to yourself again and again, want it so bad! The purpose here is for you to aim for that one thing and do it starting TODAY, yes right now :) We are challenged here aren’t we? C’mon! You can do it :)
PLAN. There was never a plan that fails what failed is you who fail to plan. Yes, there are things that doesn’t work even how many times you try on it but still its not failing it’s just not for you. (Read between the lines) And yes only those who forgets to plan most probably will fail. All successful people in this world had a plan. They started with an idea, then a dream then a plan. They look ten years or more ahead. If you don’t plan then you will always rely on “bahala na” and that’s what makes your life “bahala na din”. Your life is a printout of your thoughts. So those who thinks like a winner, wins and thinks like a loser, lose.
PRACTICE. Three main principles: 1. Just start. Nothing’s gonna happen if you don’t start. There can be one million excuses for you to start but there will always be one great reason for you to start. Just start! 2. Start small. In anything you do start small. Rich people started from small things, small capital, small space, few people, few consumers etc. but on the long run you will notice it getting bigger. You see if you start big you will miss the important things you should have known from small things so start small and learn along the way. 3. Start again. If you fail, start again, if you fail again, start again and if you fail once more START AGAIN. :) Aim not for perfect execution, aim for persistent execution.
PRODUCE. This is like a summary of the previous three topics. Your broken window (small bad habits/one problem) that you most of the time ignore can most likely damage your whole life. If you can fix it then don’t waste your time before it can affect a lot of other things. Yes, it requires changes in your life but remember that there’s not a point when life is static. These broken window of ours teaches us lessons from the past and tells us something to look forward to in the future. We are meant to grow so NEVER STOP GROWING.
So you see, I think the main point of the series is for us to Never lose hope. If we fail then let’s wish to change for life is a never ending journey. People are meant to grow and we have a purpose that’s waiting to be discovered.
As we end the first month of the year may we start with open hearts, mind and soul. May we start with clean and bright future ahead of us. May we start with no regrets but lessons instead. May we start with smiles on our face and joy on our hearts. :) It’s never too late to start and rediscover your true purpose. JUST START.
